Turmeric, Honey and Olive Oil Rejuvenating Face Mask

IMG_4729

“Let food be thy medicine!” Or in this case your cosmetics. This facial mask will rejuvenate and brighten your skin in one application. I can only imagine how nice my skin is going to look and feel once I start enjoying these facials regularly. Turmeric is known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties, and honey is known for the same, as well as being a natural anti-bacterial. I feel like my skin is more soft, radiant and the tone is more even today.

Here’s a little secret for you: guys can do this too! My husband tried it last night because of his occasional acne break outs. He was actually impressed by the way his skin felt after using it. Hint: don’t tell your man it’s a “facial.” Tell him it’s just, you know, “putting some of this stuff on there to see if it will help.” No one will have to know he did something good for his skin…

So, is this a recipe or an ingredient list for a cosmetic product? It kind of looks like a recipe, but I doubt downing a honey and turmeric cocktail would be anywhere near appetizing.

Just as a precaution: turmeric stains! Wear old clothes, use old washcloths and don’t smear it all over the sofa! In other words, be careful unless you want a turmeric-colored armchair.

Ingredients:
1 tsp ground organic turmeric
1 tsp raw organic honey
1/4 tsp cold-pressed or extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp of organic flour

Do it:
Mix all ingredients together. The flour helps bind all the ingredients together. Spread onto skin with fingertips and leave it on for 20 minutes. Gently wipe clean with a washcloth soaked in warm water. Rinse any excess. Follow with your favorite organic moisturizer. Skin should look more radiant, even and less puffy.
